Abstract
This research aims to modify a lifting device using a linear actuator system to enhance efficiency and ease of lifting and transporting loads. The developed lifting machine has a
maximum capacity of 200 kg and is specifically designed for small-scale industrial applications as well as a learning tool at Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis. Issues found in the
previous version of the lifting device, such as manual movement and difficulty operating in narrow spaces, were addressed by integrating a linear actuator as the forward-reverse drive system. The modification process includes design planning, component selection and assembly, and performance testing. The test results showed that the lifting device was capable of lifting loads up to 200 kg within approximately 10 seconds to a height of 100
cm, with battery voltage drop remaining within a safe range. The linear actuator system also provided more precise control and better operational efficiency compared to the
manual system. This modification is expected to offer a practical and cost-effective solution for light industrial operations and support academic learning for mechanical engineering students
