Abstract
This study aims to design and simulate a condenser for an essential oil distillation device made from galam leaves using SolidWorks software and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. The designed condenser adopts a shell and tube type, primarily using Stainless Steel 302 material. Technical parameters such as dimensions, fluid velocity, pressure, and temperature were used to support the simulation process and analyze the thermal performance of the system. The simulation results indicate that the condenser system can reach a steady-state condition, where the temperature, pressure, and fluid velocity at the inlet and outlet remain stable. The outlet fluid temperature remains close to 27°C, while pressure and velocity exhibit minor fluctuations, indicating a system stabilization process. This design is expected to serve as a reference for the development of an efficient essential oil distillation device in terms of heat transfer and energy efficiency. Further experimental validation is recommended to strengthen the simulation results.
