Abstract

The growth of traffic in Dumai City has increased congestion at the Bank Riau Roundabout, a key intersection connecting industrial and residential zones. This study evaluates the performance of the signalized roundabout using the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (PKJI) and simulates improvements with PTV VISSIM to support traffic management optimization. Primary data—traffic volume, geometry, APILL signal phases, and vehicle speeds—were collected through field surveys, while secondary data came from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Capacity analysis using the RMEAV PKJI 2023 form assessed the degree of saturation (DJ), capacity, and level of service (LOS), followed by simulation in PTV VISSIM. Results show that the existing roundabout operates with DJ values
