Abstract

This study analyzes the productivity of heavy equipment in asphalt pavement works for the road improvement project on Poros Buluh Apo to Sei. Meranti, Bengkalis Regency. The objectives include calculating productivity, determining the required number of units, and estimating operational costs for both 8-hour and 12-hour work scenarios. Data were obtained from field observations between September and December 2024, covering Dump Trucks, Asphalt Finishers, Tandem Rollers, and Pneumatic Tire Rollers on AC-BC and AC-WC layers. The calculations followed Rochmanhadi and Bina Marga methods, with an efficiency factor of 0.83. Results show optimal daily productivity of 321.77 m³ (AC-BC) and 280.77 m³ (AC-WC) in 8-hour shifts, increasing by approximately 50% in 12-hour shifts. Equipment requirements include 12 Dump Trucks and 1–2 units for the other machines. Operational costs vary, for instance, Dump Trucks cost Rp722,978.44/hour (8 hours) and Rp903,915.94/hour (12 hours). Technical issues, such as Tandem Roller breakdowns, contributed to delays. The study recommends providing backup equipment and enforcing stricter scheduling to improve project efficiency.
