Abstract

Many mini boilers operate with suboptimal combustion chamber designs, leading to energy waste and low steam production. This study examines the effect of air input variation in the combustion chamber of a fire tube boiler with a capacity of 100 kg/hour to improve energy efficiency. The research aims to redesign the combustion chamber and analyze the impact of air input variation on efficiency. The method employed is an experiment with air flow velocity variations ranging from 3 m/s, 5 m/s, 7 m/s, 9 m/s, 11 m/s, 13 m/s, 15 m/s and 17 m/s. The results indicate that the optimal air flow velocity is 11 m/s, resulting in the highest efficiency of 86% at 1 bar pressure, while at higher pressures, efficiency tends to decrease due to excess air causing energy waste.
