Abstract

Foundation are crucial elements in building structures, serving to transfer load from the superstructure to deeper, more stable soil layers. In Bengkalis island, bakau mangrove wood) piles are commonly used due to their abundance and low cost. However, these piles have limitations, such as low surability and vulnerability to dacay. This research compares the peformace of bakau wood piles and mini pile deform precast (ribbed concrete piles) as deep foundation feinfocements. The research problems include analyzing the the settlement differences between the two types of piles, both ass single piles and in groups. The aim is effifiency. The cenefit of this study is to evaluate settlement behavior and cost efficiency. The benefit of this study is to provide a foundation selection reference that is both effective and environmentally friendly. The study was conducted at the civil engineering laboratory of the state Polytechnic of Bengkalis, using 6 concrete piles and 6 bakau piles with depths of 1m, 1,5 m and 2 m. the static load test (SLT) method was used to measure settlement was recorded in the 2 meter bakau pile, which reached 6,66 mm under 205 kg load, while the ribbed concrete pile under the same condition only sttled 2,75 mm. it is concluded the mini pile deform pecast performs better and is amore suitable alternative in soft soil conditions.
