Abstract

Vibration analysis on centrifugal pumps is a method used to evaluate the performance and condition of a machine. One of the main benefits of this analysis is its ability to detect potential problems before they become serious and can result in malfunctioning of the machine. Based on research that has been done, the highest vibration value in the pump occurs when the pump experiences high vibration, namely at the DE (Drive End) point of the velocity axis (32,26 mm/s), enveloping (3,64 gE), axsial (5,76 mm/s) and at the NDE (Non Drive End) point of the velocity axis (11,82 mm/s), enveloping (3,31 gE), axsial (7,13 mm/s) and when compared with the ISO 10816 standard, the value exceeds the safe limit of the permitted vibration value, which is 4,50 mm/s. The factors causing high vibration in the centrifugal pump are damage to the coupling and misalignment beetwen the motor shaft and the pump shaft so that the pump operates out of line with the drive motor. To avoid the same damage to the pump, it is necessary to take action by taking vibration data regularly to determine the condition of the pump components.
