Abstract

The valve lapping process is an important stage in engine repair to ensure that the valve surface and its seat have good contact so as to prevent compression leaks.However, the manual valve skimming method requires quite a lot of time and effort and risks producing less precise results. Therefore, the aim of making this tool is to design and build an Arduino Uno-based automatic valve skimming tool as a solution to increase efficiency and precision in the process. This tool uses Arduino Uno as a controller that regulates the spraying of abrasives / spindle motor skirting paste to rotate the valve with a leaky valve feeding pattern. In addition, the tool is equipped with a speed and duration control system that can be adjusted as needed. This prototype was designed with ease of use, safety,and durability in mind. Tests were conducted with various types of valves and materials, resulting in more consistent performance compared to the manual method.
