Abstract
This research aims to design and realize a goat manure shredding machine as a solution for livestock waste management in rural areas, particularly in Muara Basung Village. The machine is developed to process goat manure into compost material more efficiently and quickly than traditional manual methods. It is powered by a 7 HP gasoline engine, equipped with a pulley and V-belt transmission
system, and features 28 shredding blades to produce finer compost texture. The development process includes design planning using Solidworks software, material selection, component assembly, and performance testing. Test results
show that the machine is capable of shredding up to 100 kg/hour with a mass reduction efficiency ranging from 3% to 10%. The machine also demonstrates stable operation, ease of use, and low maintenance requirements. Therefore, this
tool is considered effective in supporting sustainable agriculture by optimizing livestock waste into high-quality organic fertilizer.
