Abstract

Construction planning requires a method capable of delivering accurate calculations, efficiency, and minimizing errors. Conventional methods have long been used but often face limitations in precision and speed. The development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, particularly through Autodesk Revit software, offers a more integrated approach. This study aims to compare the results of structural work volume calculations and cost estimates between the conventional method and the Revit method, as well as to assess their efficiency levels. The research was conducted on the Asrama Pesantren Madani Sungai Alam project using two calculation methods. Data were analyzed to identify the differences in results obtained from each method. The findings indicate that Revit provides more detailed and accurate volume calculations compared to the conventional method. Furthermore, cost estimates produced using Revit are more controlled due to precise volume data, thereby reducing material wastage. Based on these results, the use of Revit is recommended as the primary method in construction planning. Its advantages in accuracy and efficiency make Revit an effective solution to support the planning process and cost control of construction projects.
