Abstract
ABSTRACT
The management of canal gate operations requires a reliable, efficient system capable of operating automatically to regulate water flow as needed. This study aims to design and develop an automated canal gate opening system based
on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Outseal.
The system is designed to reduce manual involvement in gate operations and improve operational efficiency. The methodology includes the design of hardware components such as a DC motor used to detect the gate’s position, along with a control panel based on PLC Outseal. The software component is developed using ladder diagram programming to control the logic for both automatic and manual gate opening and closing.
Testing was conducted to ensure the system's performance in operating the gate with optimal response. The test results show that the system is capable of operating the canal gate automatically according to the designed logic, achieving a 100% success rate in functional testing, with average response times for opening and closing matching the design specifications.
