Abstract

Monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, Heart rate, and body temperature is crucial for early detection of health issues and continuous patient supervision. This study designs and develops a health monitoring device based on the Internet of things (IoT), enabling real-time remote monitoring of vital body parameters. The system utilizes an ESP8266 microcontroller as the processing core and Wi-Fi module, Integrated with an MPX5700 pressure sensor to measure blood pressure, a MAX30102 sensor for Heart rate detection, and an MLX90614 infrared sensor for non-contact body temperature measurement. The blood pressure measurement process is performed automatically with the aid of a mini pump and a solenoid valve. The collected data is displayed on a 20x4 LCD and transmitted directly to an IoT platform for access via smartphone or web dashboard. This device is designed to assist both individuals and healthcare professionals in monitoring health conditions without the need for direct supervision. Test results indicate that the system operates accurately and is capable of transmitting data reliably over the internet, making it suitable for both personal and clinical use.
