Abstract

Agricultural activities in the Selatbaru area still rely heavily on manual irrigation methods, which are inefficient and result in water and labor waste. This study aims to implement an Arduino-based automatic plant watering system with soil moisture control to improve farming efficiency and crop growth. The system uses soil moisture sensors to detect real-time soil water levels and activates a water pump when moisture falls below a defined threshold. The system was tested over 20 days on chili plants, with growth parameters such as plant height, leaf count, and average soil moisture levels measured. Results show a 25% reduction in water
usage and better plant growth compared to manual watering methods. The system proved effective, water-efficient, and has strong potential for widerapplicationinlocalagricultural practices.
