Abstract

This research aims to develop a prototype Internet of Things (IoT) system for monitoring temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas levels in broiler chicken coops. The system is designed to assist farmers in maintaining air quality and environmental comfort in the coop to improve chicken health and facilitate digital coop management. The research was carried out according to a predetermined schedule, with development and testing conducted in a laboratory environment and a simulated chicken coop. The target users are broiler chicken farmers who require real-time monitoring of coop conditions. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller connected to a DHT22 sensor for measuring temperature and humidity, and an MQ-135 sensor for detecting ammonia levels. Data is transmitted via a Wi-Fi network and displayed on a web/mobile-based dashboard in the form of numerical values and graphs. Test results indicate that the system operates effectively and provides sufficiently accurate data to support digital coop management.
