Abstract

The Polbeng Business Expo, organized by the State Polytechnic of Bengkalis, featured a variety of competitions, including the Spelling Bee Competition for elementary and junior high school students. This paper highlights the financial management aspects involved in organizing this educational event. The project followed a structured framework consisting of the preparation, implementation, accomplishment, and completion stages, with a strong emphasis on effective budgeting and financial supervision. During the preparation phase, the committee focused on targeted sponsorship acquisition and efficient resource planning to secure qualified judges and a speaker with expertise in English spelling. Financial management played a vital role during the implementation phase, which included detailed budget monitoring, cost-control strategies, and transparent distribution of funds for various operational needs. The event was held on May 20–22, 2025, at the IT Building, with effective resource coordination for 10 committee members, 2 judges, 1 speaker, and 96 participants. The financial framework applied included systematic sponsor fund management, efficient allocation of resources, and strict oversight of operational expenses. This structured financial approach significantly contributed to the event’s success, underscoring the importance of strong financial management in organizing educational competitions.
