The implementation of the special cargo loading and unloading process is an activity that requires special handling due to the characteristics of the load which has a large weight, non-standard dimensions, and a high level of risk. The phenomenon includes delays in the loading and unloading process caused by limited unloading equipment, unfavorable weather conditions, and suboptimal coordination between parties involved in the loading and unloading activities. This study aims to determine the equipment used in the implementation of the special cargo loading and unloading process, to find out the procedures and implementation of the use of equipment in the special cargo loading and unloading process, and to find out the factors that hinder the implementation of the special cargo loading and unloading process by PT. Solid Pelayaran Indonesia at TUKS PT. BAI. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of equipment is prepared before carrying out special cargo loading and unloading activities such as ship cranes, wire slings, web slings, spider slings, forklifts, and trailers. The implementation of special cargo loading and unloading at PT. Solid Pelayaran Indonesia has been carried out in accordance with applicable procedures. However, in its implementation there are still obstacles in the form of uncertain weather conditions, limited loading and unloading equipment, and less than optimal coordination and communication between parties involved in loading and unloading activities.
