Penanganan Kendala Alat Bongkar Muat oleh PT. Antar Benua Sejati di Pelabuhan Kawasan Industri Pelintung

Stevedoring is one of the main activities in cargo loading and unloading operations at ports and plays an important role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and vessel services. In its implementation, PT. Antar Benua Sejati at KID Pelintung Port, Dumai, still faces various operational constraints that hinder the effectiveness of cargo handling activities. This study aims to identify the operational constraints frequently encountered in stevedoring activities and the efforts undertaken by PT. Antar Benua Sejati to minimize these constraints.This study employed a descriptive qualitative research method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawingThe results of the study indicate that the most common operational constraints include CPO cargo pump failures, CPO oil spills caused by leakage at the loading hose and gasket connections, unfavorable weather conditions, and delays resulting from operational coordination issues. These constraints hinder the loading and unloading process, increase vessel service time, and reduce operational productivity. To overcome these constraints, the company implements periodic preventive maintenance of loading and unloading equipment, conducts thorough inspections of cargo pumps and loading hoses before operations, ensures proper gasket installation in accordance with operational procedures, improves coordination among operational personnel, and adjusts operational schedules based on weather conditions. These efforts have been effective in reducing the risk of operational disruptions and improving the effectiveness of stevedoring activities.
