Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate and compare the lighting quality of renderings produced using Lumion and Twinmotion on an identical 3D model. An experimental method was employed using four testing scenarios: daytime exterior, nighttime exterior, daytime interior, and nighttime interior. Objective analysis was conducted through image histogram analysis using ImageJ, while subjective analysis was carried out using questionnaires distributed to 10 respondents who had experience using Lumion and Twinmotion. The evaluated parameters included brightness distribution, shadow quality, and respondents' visual perception of the rendered images. The results showed that Lumion produced brighter and more evenly distributed lighting in most scenarios, whereas Twinmotion generated higher shadow contrast. Based on the respondents' assessments, Lumion obtained a higher average score in terms of lighting quality, visual comfort, and realism. Therefore, Lumion demonstrated better lighting quality than Twinmotion on an identical 3D model based on both objective analysis and subjective evaluation.
