Abstract

Fishing activities in the Pulau Baai area, Bengkulu, require an adequate supply of fuel to ensure the smooth operation of fishing vessels. This final project aims to design the structure of a barge-type fuel supply vessel with a length of 25 meters and to construct a scale model based on that design. The design process began by refining a previous concept to produce lines plans and a general arrangement,
followed by determining the structural system, calculating loads, plate thicknesses, and stiffener profiles, creating construction drawings, and building the scale model. Structural calculations adhered to the Rules for Classification and Construction of Seagoing Steel Ships Volume II Rules for Hull 2019 Edition published by the
Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI), utilizing a transverse framing system. Verification results indicated that a diesel fuel load of 103.033 tonnes at a density
of 0.84 tonnes/m³ requires a net tank volume of 122.658 m³, remaining within the displacement limit of 193.177 tonnes at a draft of 1.50 meters. Scantling calculations specified a keel plate thickness of 8,00 mm, while the outer bottom,
side, inner bottom, and deck plates were set at 6.00 mm each. Structural profiles utilized L 50×50×5 for frames, L 60×60×6 for deck beams, and T 160× 100 ×10 until T 310 × 150 × 12. The design was realized as a 1:42 scale model with a length of 59.5 cm, constructed using 2 mm and 3 mm PVC.
