Desain dan Pembuatan Miniatur Konstruksi pada Bagian Midship Kapal Ro-ro KMP Swarna Putri

A Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) ship is a type of sea transport with a complex structural system, making it important to have learning tools that can clearly and realistically show its structure. Ship construction learning has mostly relied on two-dimensional drawings, which can make it tricky for students to grasp how structural components connect, especially in the midship section, one of the ship’s main strength areas. This study focuses on designing and building a miniature of the midship construction of the Ro-Ro ship KMP. Swarna Putri as a teaching aid. The process involved literature review, collecting ship, performing structural calculations based on the 2022 Rules for the Classification and Construction of Seagoing Steel Ships Volume II – Hull, preparing drawings in AutoCAD, and creating a 1:25 scale model from PVC Foam, followed by assembly and finishing. The results show that the dimensions of the structural elements were calculated according to the 2022 BKI Rules and used as the basis for the design. The finished miniature includes key structural parts like bottom plating, side plating, floors, frames, longitudinals, and deck, serving as a three-dimensional tool to help students better understand the layout and connections of a Ro-Ro ship’s structure.
