Abstract
At Bengkalis State Polytechnic, the welding practice course is one of the important courses for students who study welding courses, both theory and practice. This will be something new, especially for students from non-engineering schools. Therefore, the provision of learning media or welding samples is very much needed, including pipe welding. In this case, the author makes a model of a welding joint on a pipe using the SMAW process which is more often found in the Welding Workshop of the Department of Marine Engineering and is widely used in Industry. With this, it is hoped that students can know the types of joints and layer patterns of welding stages on pipes, as well as testing or indications of types of welding defects and standards used in the acceptance of test results. As additional support, the author will include welding data and recordings to facilitate understanding to encourage knowledge and skills in welding science.
