Abstract

The purpose of this research is to optimize the maintenance of safety equipment to ensure efficient ship operation and reduce the risk of accidents The main objective of this study is to optimize the maintenance of safety equipment on board the ship Research methods include observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain accurate and relevant data Data analysis is conducted descriptively qualitatively using the Fault Tree Analysis approach The research findings indicate that mechanical damage to Life Rafts and fire detectors is a major issue, caused by factors such as corrosion, improper handling, dust, and humidity To address this problem, efforts are made for routine inspections, lubrication, crew training, and preventive maintenance. This integrated approach aims to ensure that all safety equipment functions properly, thus guaranteeing the safety of life on board the ship.
