Abstract
This final project aims to determine the process of managing ship certificate extension plays an important role in ensuring that ships can operate properly and meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Agents can help manage the certificate management process efficiently, thereby improving the smoothness and safety of ships. This research was conducted at PT. Gemalindo Sukses Bahari This research uses qualitative methods and descriptive approaches. The methods used to obtain the information needed from related parties are researchers preparing observation, interview and documentation methods. The results of the study are the process of managing the completeness of ship certificate extension. The agent submitted an application through the shipping and maritime information system application (SIMKAPEL) with the KSOP, as for the requirements that must be met in the extension of three different ship certificates. Thus the results of the study of the two obstacles that occur in the process of managing the completeness of the extension of ship certificates, namely frequent network disruptions, incomplete certificates, long time in making PNBP payments, lack of communication between the ship and the agent, lack of thoroughness in checking expired ship certificates, incomplete ship safety equipment, and expired Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) certificates, there are findings on board the ship, ship equipment that has not been fulfilled, and crew requests that have not been processed by the ship
