Abstract
The problems found by the author in the container research were congestion or delays during loading and unloading. The aim of this research was to determine the optimization of full container activities to increase the smoothness of exports and imports at the PT depot. Segara Mitra Abadi Dumai Branch. This research was carried out from March to August 2024 and the location of this research was at the Port of Indonesia I (Persero) Container Depot, Dumai branch. The method used is a qualitative method, in this case the author collected data using data collection methods including observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of this research are the first regarding the full container activity system to improve smoothness which has been running well and correctly. This is proven by the stages of the container journey properly. Second, what are the obstacles that exist in full container activities, namely equipment damage, uneven field conditions experiencing damage and waterlogging which makes picking or stacking take longer, traffic jams when picking up containers and the length of time it takes for customers to process orders for releasing goods. Third, optimizing full container activities to increase smoothness requires company efforts to optimize activities so that they run smoothly, always coordinating with workers and briefers to improve their performance as well as giving a sense of responsibility to their respective duties and ensuring the arrangement of empty containers according to the container grade category.
