Abstract

Bengkalis State Polytechnic Department of Shipping Engineering employs a welded practice course with one goal of producing an insightful and competent graduate in the field of evasion. But from the experience of the author asa student from the public school (non-technical) that had no basic welding so that while undergoing a class of welding practice there were some obstacles during which the practice included understanding welding and clumsy materials for the operation ofwelding tools. Hence the writer took the initiative to make a proposal for the final task proposal entitled creating samples of the joints las fillet and groove on the plate using the smaw process from the latter is expected to help the younger brother of the naval technique in getting to know and understand the shape and layer of the structure on the plate welder and using the smaw welling process.
