Abstract

Duku River Port is located in the city of Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Duku River Harbor is one of the links between the islands in Riau province. This research analyzes the supervision carried out by KSOP Class II Pekanbaru in realizing security, safety and order for passengers at Sungai Duku Port. This port requires effective supervision to ensure safety standards, but obstacles such as limited resources inadequate facilities, lack of monitoring equipment, lack of passenger awareness, and extreme weather often interfere with supervision. With a qualitative approach, the methods used are interviews, observation and documentation studies with related parties. This research finds that the results of the Harbor Master’s supervision at Sungai Duku Port are important for realizing consistent security, safety and order, in order to reduce the risk of dangerous incidents and violations. To increase the effectiveness of supervision, it is necessary to increase the number and quality of human resources, provide more adequate monitoring facilities and equipment, and strengthen coordination between relevant stakeholders
