Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of location and price on the decision to choose a boarding house for students of the Bengkalis State Polytechnic. The type of research used is associative. The population in this study were students of the Bengkalis State Polytechnic. The sampling technique in this research is non-probability sampling, with a total sample of 100 respondents. Methods of data analysis using descriptive analysis methods and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the location had a significant effect on the decision to choose a boarding house with a value of t count > t table of 5.452 > 1.985. Price has a significant effect on the decision to choose a boarding house with a value of t count > t table of 2,757 > 1,985. Location and price simultaneously have a significant effect on the decision to choose a boarding house with a value of F count > F table of 37.634 > 3.089. The influence given by the location and price variables on the decision to choose a boarding house is 42.5% and the remaining 57.5% can be influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
