Abstract
The fire in peatland and oil palm plantation areas in the canal poses a serious threat that can cause significant environmental and economic damage. To address this issue, fire-fighting vessels specifically designed to operate in shallow and narrow waters in the oil palm plantation canal areas are needed. This study aims to design an optimal fire-fighting vessel in terms of main dimensions, fire-fighting systems, and maneuverability in the restricted canal environment. The methodologies used in this research include operational needs analysis, literature study, and a design approach based on Savitsky Planing methods. Including the types and capacities of fire pumps, as well as spraying systems that are suited to the geographical conditions of the palm canal.
