Efektivitas Komunikasi Operator Radio Di Pelabuhan Teluk Bayur

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of radio operator communication at the Subholding Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) in Teluk Bayur Port. The problem formulation includes, how is the operational effectiveness of operator services at Teluk Bayur Port, obstacles and challenges in the operational services of radio operator at Teluk Bayur Port, and the technology used by radio operators in services at Teluk bayur Port. This study was conducted at the Subholding Pelindo Jasa Maritim unit in Teluk Bayur, Padang, West Sumatra. Data collection was done by direct observation and interviews. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of radio operator communication at Teluk Bayur Port shows that although caommunication via VHF radio channel 12 is quite effective in supporting ship pilotage operations, there ere still several obstacles, such as bad weather, lack of understanding of procedures by radio operators, and copmmunication obstacles. To reduce the risk of accidents, radio operators must implement careful palnning before informing ships that will enter or leave the port end delay ships if the weather is bad.
