Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of enamel wire diameter variation on the efficiency of a 125-watt single-phase induction motor. Three motors were tested using enamel wire diameters of 0.45 mm, 0.50 mm, and 0.55 mm, each rewound using the concentric single-layer winding method. The testing was conducted under no-load conditions using digital measuring instruments to obtain data on voltage, current, input power, output power, and motor efficiency. The results showed that the enamel wire diameter significantly affects motor efficiency. The motor wound with 0.45 mm wire achieved the highest efficiency at 79.37%, followed by 0.50 mm at 72.47%, and 0.55 mm at 53.57%. Smaller wire diameters tend to increase efficiency, although they have higher resistance. In conclusion, selecting the appropriate wire diameter can improve the efficiency of induction motors, and the concentric single-layer rewinding method proves effective in enhancing motor performance.
