Abstract
This study aims to analyze the risk management process in e-commerce transactions using the Cash on delivery (COD) payment method at J&T Express in Bengkalis Subdistrict. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The risk management process is implemented through four main stages: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. In the planning stage, the company identifies potential risks such as product rejection, unilateral cancellations, and courier safety threats. The
organizing stage involves a structured division of operational tasks. The actuating stage includes staff training, courier briefing, and the use of tracking systems. Meanwhile, the controlling stage is carried out through daily report reconciliation, on-site problem resolution, and internal audits. Identified risks are categorized into six types: operational, financial, security, reputational,
administrative, and legal. Risk control strategies include risk avoidance, loss prevention, and duplication. Although risk management is actively applied, the documentation system remains manual. Therefore, digitalization of the risk management system is necessary to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency.
