Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, lifestyle, and self-control on the consumer behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) users among students, with financial attitude as a mediating variable. The data used is primary data obtained thru distributing questionnaires to accounting students at universities in Bengkalis who use BNPL. The data analysis method used is a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) using WarpPLS 7.0 software. The research results indicate that financial literacy has a positive but non-significant effect on consumer behavior, while lifestyle and self-control have a positive and significant effect on consumer behavior. Financial literacy and lifestyle have a positive and significant effect on financial attitudes, whereas self-control has a positive but non-significant effect. Financial attitude was also proven to have a positive and significant influence on consumer behavior, but it did not act as a mediating variable in the relationship between financial literacy, lifestyle, and self-control on consumer behavior.
