Abstract

The piano is a keyed musical instrument classified as a string and percussion instrument that is played by pressing the keys on the piano board. Piano musical instruments at this time are not cheap, it costs a lot to be able to own one. From the above problems, a Digital Piano Application using a Leap Motion Sensor is proposed. The Leap Motion sensor which carries a new method for interacting with the computer can be applied in making applications, one of which is the creation of a Digital Piano Application Using the Leap Motion Sensor as a tool for its operation. The system design uses area mapping, this determines the Threshold (limit) to produce a different sound with the desired distance, from each area will produce 8 sounds from the digital piano application through a predetermined coordinate point. This application has 7 sound levels, starting from octave 1 to octave 7. This application is designed using Netbeans software using the java programming language. The trial was carried out on 7 people, the results of the trial showed that the application was running well, the application can be used by anyone on any computer device.
