Abstract
This final project is one of the requirements to complete the third diploma in Nautics. This final project aims to find out how to optimize tugboat pilotage and towage services in serving the motion of ships docking and offshore in the port of Teluk Bayur, then to find out the obstacles or obstacles encountered during the ongoing motion process. The data collection method that will be used is the method of observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. This final project shows that there are several factors that affect the quality of tugboat service, namely internal factors and external factors.Internalfactors include the readiness and availability of tug boats then external factors such as weather conditions, wind speed, current strength, and water conditions. With optimal conditions, the time needed to carry out the maneuvers of tugboats and port officers, as well as by utilizing information technology to speed up the coordination process, is expected to provide the best service for users of towage services. This research will be carried out for 3 months starting from March to May 2023 at PT Jasa Armada Indonesia.
