Abstract

In this study, there were several problems faced by SD Negeri 40 Bengkalis regarding their library management. Some of the main obstacles include the lack of book collection features covering 5000 books ranging from grade one to grade six, the process of borrowing books that are still done in writing, students against borrowing books, the absence of a fine system to overcome the loss of books and late book returns. To overcome this problem, the solution is a website-based library application. The book collection feature by grouping books based on book categories that make it easier for students to find books according to the learning level, with complete information about the book such as title, author, publisher, and stock that is updated automatically every time there is a loan or return transaction, applied to rewards and provides library reports automatically by getting points from the application as a reward for students who actively read and borrow books that can motivate them to borrow books more often. In addition, a non-monetary fine feature to replace lost books and overdue books is automatically recorded in the system. The result of this library application can be to improve the quality of library services and strengthen the culture of reading.
