Abstract

Bathin Alam is a main road used by general public and students of a Bengkalis State Polytechnic Campus. As the institution continues to grow and the number of students increases each year, the volume of vehicles passing through Bathin Alam road also rises. This increase in traffic can lead to congestion and higher risk of accidents, especially during peak hours. To reduce these risk, a traffic diversion is planned for public road users, while Bathin Alam road will be designated for students and campus staff. This study was conducted to analyze traffic performance undur existing conditions as well as future conditions projected for the next five and ten years. The analysis result show that the degree of saturation under both existing and projected condition is below 0,85, which is categorized as safe. The method used in this analysis refers to the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (2023). The purpose of this research is to evaluate the traffic performance of current conditions and the effectiveness of the proposed route change.
