Abstract
Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials due to its high compressive strength and durability. However, in practice, concrete often experiences a reduction in workability, which complicates the casting and compaction process. To overcome this issue, an admixture in the form of a superplasticizer can be added. Fosroc Conplast SP 337 is a type of superplasticizer designed to improve the workability of concrete without reducing its compressive strength. This study aims to investigate the effect of adding Fosroc Conplast SP 337 to concrete with a design strength of f’c 35 MPa. The test specimens were cylindrical samples with dimensions of 15 cm × 30 cm, prepared with an admixture dosage of 1 liter per 100 kg of cement. Tests conducted included slump tests and compressive strength tests at concrete ages of 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days. The test results revealed that the addition of Fosroc Conplast SP 337 significantly increased slump values, providing better workability compared to control concrete without admixtures. Furthermore, the concrete with the additive also achieved higher compressive strength, with the optimum strength reached at 28 days, showing a notable improvement over normal concrete. In conclusion, the use of Fosroc Conplast SP 337 is proven to be effective in enhancing concrete performance, both in terms of workability and compressive strength, making it highly applicable in construction projects.
